Meals

Taylor Shaw are our new hot meal provider.

As you may be aware all children in reception up to the end of Year 2 receive free school meals as part of the universal infant free school meals scheme. You do not have to do anything to receive this, just order a hot meal through your child each week.

For all children in early years and Years 3 - 6 you can purchase a hot meal through your child asking for one at register time and paying for your meals via the school money app, as many parents currently do. The cost of hot school meals will £2.70 per meal.

No matter what year group your child is in, it may be worth checking if your child is entitled to pupil premium. This would result in your child being able to have hot school meals for their time at school and provides the school with additional funding which goes directly back to the children through extra support in the classrooms, resources in school and financial support for educational visits.

Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.

Your child may also get free school meals if you get any of these benefits and your child is both:
