Online Reading Records - Boom Reader
At Flintham Primary School, we place an extremely high value on the importance of reading. Our mission is to instill a love of reading and story-telling in our pupils. We have invested heavily in our phonics scheme Read, Write, Inc and have a wonderful range of books for the children to enjoy. As a staff we have been considering a more efficient way to keep track of children’s reading – one which will ensure that all adults and all pupils are able to engage in one reading log/record without the frustration of lugging a dog-eared book around for the year and then, of course, never seeing it again.
As such, we have been looking for an online reading record and after some research, we have found one we believe is both easily accessible for parents, pupils and staff and will hold a record of children’s reading journey throughout their time at Flintham Primary School. We will be introducing this to EYFS and KS1. KS2 will be keeping their paper diaries for this next academic year.
