Reporting Pupil Absences, Medical Appointments and Holiday Requests
It is important that children attend school on every day that school is open. We ask all parents and carers to follow the procedures below when reporting pupil absence, medical or dental appointments, and requesting leave during term time. This helps us ensure accurate attendance records and minimise disruption to learning.
Reporting Absence
If your child is ill, please contact the school office each day of absence before 9.00am.
Absence reporting can be done by calling the school office on 01636 525371.
Please note that if your child has sickness and/or diarrhoea they need to be absent from school for 48 hours from the last bout.
Medical and Dental Appointments
Wherever possible, routine medical and dental appointments should be arranged outside of school hours to minimise disruption to learning.
If an appointment during the school day is unavoidable, please inform the school in advance. You must also provide a copy of the appointment confirmation (such as a letter, card, text or email).
Absence Requests (Including Holidays)
If you wish to request leave for your child for part of the school day, or a holiday, please complete the absence request form using the link below.
All requests must be submitted at least four weeks in advance of the intended absence.
Holidays during term time should be avoided and will not be authorised, except in exceptional circumstances.
